Greg Foyster is a writer and illustrator living on Wadawurrung country, Geelong. His short stories have been published in Meanjin, Griffith Review, Overland, Aurealis, The Big Issue Fiction Edition and leading science journal Nature. In 2023 he won the Peter Carey Short Story Award and was shortlisted for the Griffith Review ‘Emerging Voices’ Competition and longlisted for the Furphy Literary Prize.

Greg is also the author of the memoir Changing Gears (Affirm Press) and his journalism and opinion pieces have been published in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Saturday Paper, ABC, Crikey and The Big Issue. He has appeared at the Melbourne Writers Festival, the Sydney Writers Festival, the Sustainable Living Festival, Wheeler Centre, Transitions Film Festival and on ABC Radio National. He was previously named in The Age’s ‘Top 100’ list of inspiring and influential Melburnians.

My first published short story! I love The Big Issue and was honoured to be included in the 2019 fiction edition.
